THE new St Mabyn community shop opened for the first time on Saturday, August 25 for the sale of newspapers — only eleven days after it was delivered.
The shop will be opening, formally, for the sale of groceries on Monday, October 1.
The shop is a Community Benefit Society project, prompted by local reaction to news that the only existing shop was to close after 100 years.
Volunteers will help run the shop and have already been hard at work painting the cabin.
