THE staff and residents at Basill Manor in St Clether were paid a visit by Scott Mann, Conservative MP for North Cornwall, on Friday where he learned about their plans.
The purpose of Basill Manor is to provide accommodation and support for adults with learning disabilities.
They are provided with supported living service, where individuals are able to exercise their rights, make choices, learn new skills and increase or maintain their level of independence.
Terry Wilkins, manager at Basill Manor, and acting chairman of the Peredur Trust Henry Kendall, met Mr Mann, who was given a tour of the 15th Century manor house, some of which is in need of repair.
Terry discussed the issues they had with the listed planning office and how they were going to move forward. She also explained the services and facilities the manor provides and the other properties the trust owns, including a pottery and a weaver.
She also told Mr?Mann of their future plans to expand their service to include a respite centre and accommodation for couples.
Mr Mann said: “I was pleased to be invited to visit Basill Manor to see first-hand the great work the Peredur Trust does, and also to talk to a number of the residents who gave me a warm welcome as I toured their house.”
