A motorcyclist died after a crash near Bude.

Police were called at about 4.40pm yesterday following reports of a single-vehicle collision.

The crash involved a yellow and black Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, on the A3072 near to Red Post, Bude. The road was closed for about seven hours.

Police, paramedics, and the Devon Air Ambulance crew attended the scene but sadly the motorcycle rider, a 34-year-old man from Beaworthy, was declared dead at the scene.

The motorcyclist’s next of kin have been informed.

Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended the scene and commenced their investigation.

A spokesman for the police say they wanted to thank the public for their patience while the road was closed to enable an examination of the scene and for the recovery of the motorcycle to take place.
