A RECENT charity lunch in Launceston, held in aid of the NSPCC, raised more than £2,000.

The final sum raised from the lunch, held at the town hall on June 21, was £2,208.13.

Martin Ryan, chairman of Launceston branch of the NSPCC, said: “What a fantastic luncheon it was, on a very hot day, and thanks to all those who came to enjoy what was a wonderful meal, which was provided by donations and food prepared by the ladies and gents of the NSPCC committee.

“Everyone worked very hard to ensure its success, including those members of the town council who helped set out and donated the hall for our use.”
