AROUND 150 people packed the Parkhouse Centre on Friday, November 17, for ‘Bude Roots’, a North Coast Arts celebration of Bude’s singer-songwriters.

James Dixon, Ezmay Grace, Mark Ben Wilson and Gary McCausland provided three hours of world class original music which had the crowd cheering.

Ezmay said: “Everyone I’ve spoken to has been blown away by the level of musicianship.”

Former Budehaven student, Liam Drewery provided excellent sound and lighting which transformed the stage and enhanced the vibe of the venue.

A quickfire quiz added to the fun and with a raffle for the Bude Sea Pool plus £2 from each full price ticket being donated to the charity, more than £350 was raised for Friends of Bude Sea Pool.

With pizzas available throughout the evening from Alex’s Sourdough Pizzas and Alan Colwill’s bar open throughout, the potential for the Parkhouse Centre to be a thriving arts venue was apparent to all who attended this successful and joyful night of live music, which was supported by Norton Barton Artisan Food Village.
