Police were called at 7.45am on Thursday, August 22, to Sandymouth Bay in Bude, following reports that the body of a man had been located.

Formal ID has now taken place and it has been confirmed that the body was that of 39-year-old Edward Renshaw, who was reported missing from Holsworthy on Monday, August 19. His next of kin have been informed of this development.

His death is currently being treated as unexplained and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
