ALMOST 100 years after the famous Titanic perished en route to New York, a North Tamerton man is appealing to 'Post' readers for information about his great step-aunt, who survived the disaster.
Cyril Webber, who now lives in a Launceston residential home, has been carrying out research into his great step aunt Susan (Susie) Webber. She is one of the few survivors of the Titanic disaster which will commemorate its 100th anniversary on April 15, 1912.
So far he has managed to re-trace his connection with Susie Webber and her life before she died in 1952, but is keen to find out more.
Cyril's father, Walter William Webber, is the son of John Webber (Cyril's grandfather) who was born at Little Hole, North Tamerton in 1857. John was a carpenter and son of Richard and Catherine (first wife) Webber.
Richard, also a carpenter, lived at Vale House, North Tamerton, His second wife, Elizabeth Chapman, of Treneglos, had four children with Richard, one of which was Susie. She would have been a step sister to Cyril's grandfather.
