A MEMORIAL tractor run for the late Janet Barriball was held on October 14.

Forty nine tractors left the Countryman Inn, Langdon Cross at 10.30am and enjoyed a cross country tour around North Petherwin, Maxworthy and stopped at High Cliff, Crackington Haven. The event raised an amazing £2,605. The family of Janet were invited to St Luke’s Hospice, Plymouth to present the cheque and were shown around the hospice remembrance gardens.

The money raised is enough to buy two syringe drivers for St Luke’s or enough to support three people who are being looked after by St Luke’s in their own homes.

St Luke’s Hospice provides specialist end of life care and support to people from across Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall. Whether in their home, in hospital or at the specialist unit. St Luke’s cared for 3,531 patients last year, 45% of those were cared for at home, 30% at Derriford Hospital, 7% at St Luke’s Hospice, Plymouth and 18% were lymphoedema and outpatients.

Peter Ward, St Luke’s Community Fundraiser said: “This fantastic family and team of people from Launceston organising this event in memory of Janet Barriball not only raised vital funds to help St Luke’s continue this service, but also had a great time making memories and celebrating life at the tractor run and carvery event. A massive thank you to all.”
