LAUNCESTON mayor, Dave Gordon, held a coffee morning to raise money for his mayor’s charity for 2019, Freddy’s Fund.

Held at the Royal British Legion in Launceston on Friday, June 14, Cllr Gordon and his wife Carole saw a steady flow of people who were all generous towards Freddy’s Fund, raising £340 on the day. This money will go towards providing local youngster Freddy with a special bed.

“Back in April, I was put in contact with Freddy’s mum and dad, who explained to Carole and myself what Freddy’s medical problems are, and within five minutes I knew I had to try and help this special little two-year-old boy,” Cllr Gordon said. “The response I have had since Freddy’s Fund was launched last month at the mayor choosing has been fantastic and we are now almost a quarter of the way towards achieving our goal, and after only six weeks.

“I would like to thank everyone who has made a donation to date. People have been very generous, and proving what I have always said, Launceston is a great community.”

Cllr Gordon’s most recent fundraising event for the cause was held at the Victorian Market in Launceston, building on the fantastic start in helping young Freddy and his family.
