All day the Launceston team of Ruth Cornish, Sue Parsons, Hayley Frayn and Sarah Statton were expecting the match with Bodmin 'A' to be cancelled because of the weather conditions. However, the rain and wind passed over and it turned out to be a nice evening.

Although the ground was still a bit damp that did not stop Hayley and Sarah having some fantastic rallies with their first pairing. The first set was extremely close and could have gone to either team but fortunately Launceston won it in a tie break.

The second set was more one sided with Hayley and Sarah winning it 6-3. Meanwhile Ruth and Sue were hitting some very sweet volleys to finish off the points and they won their match with the second pairing very comfortably 6-1, 6-2.

At the halfway point in the match it was 4-0 to Launceston. Ruth and Sue quickly disposed of their first pairing 6-4, 6-0 to ensure Launceston had won the match, but would it be maximum points for Launceston? Yes it was, Hayley and Sarah beat their second pair 6-4, 6-1. It is the first time this season that Launceston Ladies have obtained maximum points from a match, so well done ladies!
