ANGELS Rest in Launceston received a generous donation of £200 from the Launceston Community Market on October 2.

Launceston Community Market donates all the table profits it makes to local charities and good causes.

The stallholders and customers were delighted to welcome Christine Hall — who runs the Angels Rest — to present her with a cheque for £200.

Angels Rest is a charity set up to provide a secure future for horses and ponies that have been neglected and mistreated.

Christine takes in horses and ponies and restores them to health — ‘before and after’ photographs are testament to the hard work she and her helpers put in to help the neglected animals.

Christine also works with people with ADHT and other physical and mental difficulties to help them bond with a horse as a form of therapy.

Angie Symonds recently became a guardian of one of the rescued horses, Shylo. She says she has benefitted personally from Shylo’s understanding — and he has benefitted from hers.

Contact Christine to find out more about her work at Angels Rest on 07813 855683 or visit the market in the Launceston Methodist Church between 9.30am and 1pm.
