North Cornwall Hunt Supporters’ Horse and Family Dog Show took place in glorious sunshine near Blisland.

The event was held at Trevissick Farm by permission of Paul and Tracey Fletcher on Saturday.

The excellent course, designed by Luke Ingram, drew many favourable comments.

One of the organisers, Abigail Kirby-Harris, said: “Our thanks to him and also Kurt Thomas the dog section judge, Nicky Stephens for working hunters and Katy and Jackie Deithrick for judging the show jumping and Celena Wolfe for commentating.

“Congratulations to champion of champions Roxy Smith on Spirit. Little Chutney, the hound puppy with her walker Jane stole many hearts!

“The dog show produced many classes, particularly finding the dog with the wiggliest tail and the scruffiest.

“James Hill’s Hook A Duck with a Digger proved a popular ‘game’ of skill with attempts to catch plastic ducks in a pond — many wannabee excavator drivers failing to catch even one duck, though winner Ryan Johnson proved his skills with his catch of five. And the ‘inner supporter’ was amply sustained by the marvellous refreshments, thanks to the stalwart Fletchers and also Steve Heard, who worked so hard to produce it all.

“Thanks also to David and Ros Mather as well as Bob and Rosemary Meeson for the great help they gave on the day — and all the unseen behind-the-scenes helpers too.

“Successful and enjoyable events like these depend on so many people, we couldn’t do it without you and our thanks again.”
