JEAN Humber was delighted to be able to hold her Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and table top sale again this year on Saturday, October 9, at Pipers Pool Community Hub.
The sun shone bringing many local people to the event, plus it was lovely to see faces from further afield too, coming together to enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, biscuits, cakes, desserts and cream teas. There was lots of bric-a-brac to find some treasures, alongside a variety of other stalls. The ever-popular home produce stall was soon sold-out, as well as showcasing some local businesses.
Thanks were expressed to the wonderful businesses of Launceston and individuals who so kindly donated raffle prizes and other items to help make the day such a success.
Thanks were also expressed to the volunteers including Jean Humber for organising the event, Carol Marks who did a fantastic job of keeping on top of the catering, Tracey Dawe who managed the home produce stall, Vanessa Dennis who welcomed guests and ran the raffle, and Keira for looking after the tombola.
A spokesperson said: “It was a busy day but well worth the effort as we are thrilled to have raised £758.25 (with a few more donations to come) for Macmillan Cancer Support to say thank you for the help given to Jean during her third cancer treatment during 2018-2020.
“We will be holding a Christmas charity coffee morning and table top sale with more local businesses on show on Saturday, December 4. Keep an eye out for details, we’d love to see you then but if not we hope to hold our Macmillan event again and see you next year!”
