Professional triathlete Lucy Gossage is set to return to Wales to compete in the 2XU Long Course Weekend 2015.
Lucy has had a great season so far and organisers can't wait to welcome her back to Tenby after her incredible win at Ironman Wales in 2013.
Lucy has said that she is 'really excited to be going back to beautiful Tenby' for the event.
Lucy started triathlon as a novice with no sports background in 2006 while working full-time, entering her first triathlon in 2005 and stating that she 'wanted a challenge.' Her somewhat surprising rise within the triathlon world highlights what people can accomplish if they combine passion, enthusiasm, determination, and a never-give-up attitude.
Lucy is a prime example of someone who has done this, and organisers are delighted she has chosen the 2XU Long Course Weekend as one of her must-do events for this season.
The Long Course Weekend attracts over 5,000 athletes and 20,000 supporters to the area. Now televised to over 560 million homes worldwide, it really has added that something extra for both athletes and spectators to an already incredible weekend. The famous bike course is known for being tough, and full of difficult climbs. However, the incredible routes through countryside and scenes that boast some of the best beaches in the world make it a must-do event for athletes.
The event is now closed due to reaching capacity. It takes place on July 3-5. More information on the website http://longcourseweekend.com/">http://longcourseweekend.com/
