A LONG-service award has been presented to one of the Holsworthy & District Lions original founding members who has been an active member for 40 years.

Holsworthy & District Lions Club was actually formed in 1975 but did not receive its official charter until April 1976.

Only one of the original founding members is still an active member of the club, Phil Cole, who also served as Holsworthy’s Portreeve from 2012 to 2015.

At the club’s business meeting on Thursday, October 6, Phil was presented with a long-service award honouring the fact that he has been a member of the Lions club for 40 years. District governor Fred Broom made the presentation.
