OPEN Studios Cornwall is returning for 2017, with a number of Post area artists joining in the event this year and opening their doors to the public.
Cornish creatives from Camelford, Launceston, Widemouth Bay and beyond are getting involved and counting down to the largest Open Studios free art event that the county has ever seen.
From Saturday, May 27, to Sunday, June 4, established artists and emerging talent from rural retreats and thriving towns will throw open their doors in a showcase that will be as rich in talent as it is broad in its diversity.
Each venue will be clearly indicated by an orange ‘O’ so watch out for them whilst travelling around Cornwall along any given ‘art trail’.
Open Studios Cornwall is not just about artists, designers and makers creating work in curious spaces and beautiful places; it is also about discovering the personal stories that inform their artistic practice and purchasing original pieces of art.
With many of the participants providing homemade teas to welcome visitors, creating art trails across Cornwall becomes a fun half-term adventure for all the family.
A number of artists from the Post area are set to take part in this year’s Open Studios event.

Jane Sutherland, from Creative Skills, the development agency coordinating Open Studios Cornwall, said: “Open Studios Cornwall celebrates the county’s wealth of creativity in all its forms — from painting, ceramics and furniture design to photography, jewellery and so much more.
“From the figurative to the abstract, the subtle to the subversive, the observes to the imagined, the reclaimed and the remade, this is your chance to step into the secret world of the studio, create your very own art trail and be inspired by the vast array of work on show wherever you are in the county.
“All you have to do is grab a guide, check out the maps and lists of artists, look out for the orange Os that signpost them and immerse yourself in this explosion of colour, shape, line and form.”
