THE Lib Dems gained a clean sweep of the three Launceston seats and two Bude area ones up for grabs on Cornwall Council in the local elections on Thursday, writes Keith Whitford, the editor.
Liberal Democrat David Parsons gained the Bude seat with 1,413 from Nigel Pearce (Lib Dem) on 1,281 in a three-cornered contest, where both were elected.
Paula Dolphin (Lib Dem) was the victor over Shorne Tilbey (Conservative) in Grenville and Stratton, with 864 votes cast as against 410.
