HOOPS Holsteins, Holsworthy, did tremendously well on the first day of the Royal Cornwall Show, with many rosettes to their name.

Stuart Ley and his workers attended the Royal Cornwall Show on Thursday, June 9, showcasing their cattle to the huge crowds that gathered for the showing, and managed to win four firsts, two seconds and four fifths.

Overall, they showed ten cattle, and seemed to be pleased with the results.

Whilst milking his second prize cow, Stuart told the Post: “It’s been going really well so far. We’ve been coming to the Royal Cornwall Show for 25 years, and I’ve been coming to the show since I was eight; we’ve always had some success.

“It’s been a really lovely show, and I’m really pleased that we’ve won and had so much success this year.”

Next up for Hoops Holsteins is the Holsworthy Show and the Stratton Show, where, again, they will take their cows to be showcased to local crowds interested in local cattle.

It is hoped that they have as much success here as they have done at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show.
