BUDE knew this would be a tough encounter in this semi-final against a Holsworthy team three divisions above them, writes Gary Hodgson.
Holsworthy pressed the game early on with striker Levi Landricombe looking particularly dangerous and an early effort struck the Bude upright. Bude looked to have taken the lead after 20 minutes when a Jason Ferrett free kick just outside the box struck the wall, the ball fell loose and Dan Balsdon tucked the ball away only to see the linesman's flag go up for offside.
Holsworthy did take the lead five minutes later, a through ball from midfield saw Landricombe lose his defender and from the edge of the box struck a sweet shot low into the far bottom left corner.
Bude grew in confidence as the game went on and for large parts of the second half looked the better team, both teams were defending well with Wayne Cornish mopping everything up at the back for Bude, equally Holsworthy's back line were not giving an inch.
Bude came close to taking the game into extra time late on, Dan Balsdon saw a long range strike tipped on to the crossbar from Holsworthy's Dean Chidley after 80 minutes and soon after a cross from Herbie Goodgroves found an unmarked Alex Boardman at the back post but his header was put just wide of the post.
