A HOLSWORTHY man has been appointed as the as director of workforce and development at the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust.

Darryn Allcorn had undertaken the role on an interim basis since January last year and came through a rigorous selection process in front of a panel featuring external assessors.

His key areas of responsibility include human resources, staff engagement, health and wellbeing, equality and diversity, staff and organisational development and workforce planning and systems.

Darryn, who lives in Holsworthy and was a student at the town's community college, said: "I'm looking forward to carrying on the exceptional work of the Trust and to meeting the challenges ahead, through supporting and developing our workforce to provide the very best care and services for our patients."
