AFTER years of campaigning for a new pedestrian crossing near Hurdon Way, Launceston, a set of traffic lights were unveiled last week, but they haven't been given the green light by everyone.
Jim Edwards of Hurdon Way, believes some drivers don't have the best view of the traffic lights, especially those turning out of Hurdon Way onto Hurdon Road.
As the lights face into the road at an angle, drivers queuing further back the road aren't able to see the lights, he believes.
"If a lorry comes and has to turn in for deliveries, cars behind can't see the lights," said Jim.
He stressed that this could cause an accident, for example, if a car overtook a parked lorry without being fully aware of the crossing's lights.
