LAUNCESTON Town Council has generally agreed on the 20 year framework work plan for the town at the full council meeting on Tuesday, January 22, writes Natalie Venning.
The document has been devised by Cornwall Council in consultation with local residents and the town council over the past three years.
It outlines that over the next 20 years, Launceston could generate almost 3,000 jobs and around 1,500 new dwellings. These developments are mostly centralised around Pennygillam Industrial Estate and the south of the town.
A further employment only development is planned at Kennards House which will further support Launceston's growth as a market town and work within the food industry.
"It has a few points that individuals may not agree with or want amended, but it is things I can live with," said Cllr Paul O'Brien, who had been one of the councillors working on the document.
