LAUNCESTON Town Square Events Team held a Family Fun Day on Saturday, in the Square. There were many stalls and attractions which included, coconut shy, guess the price of the hampers, face painting, tombola, treasure hunt and a town trail.

The police Respect Bus was in attendance where youngsters could collect useful information, enter a quiz and play games on various different consoles inside the bus.

Thankfully, the only shower that the Square had during the day was Mr Showers, who entertained children and adults with juggling, stilt walking, balloon modelling and creating giant bubbles that soared across the buildings in the town centre.

Launceston Town band provided the refreshments which were enjoyed by many who could sit in the sunshine while watching the entertainment.

Children were able to have a go at several circus skills themselves and some parents joined in and tried their hand at plate spinning, juggling and diablo, gratefully supplied by Kidzone.

Captain Hook turned up as the villain of the day but the children decided to put him in the stocks for a good drenching by throwing wet sponges at him!

Thanks to Colin, who turned up by chance and entertained us with his bag pipes.

All the proceeds went to the Launceston Town Square Events Committee who try to raise money to hold events for local residents and visitors to enjoy in the town.

There are several more events scheduled over the next coming months.

A special thank-you goes out to all those involved in helping the day become a huge success but most of all to the children and adults who came and made the day complete.
