THE members of the Rotary Club of Launceston are delighted to announce that they are about to open another Community Shop in the town.

Just the same as their first shop, which ran for nine weeks in August and September last year, it will be run much on the same basis as a charity shop, but where all of the profit is ploughed back into local community groups, local charities and local projects.

Rotarian Alan Rainsley, on behalf of the Rotary Club of Launceston, said: "I would like to say a big thank you to Kivells Estate Agents, in particular Sam Payne, for the tremendous support he has given. Kivells obtained consent from the landlord on behalf of Launceston Rotary for us to use the shop at 4, Southgate Street, directly opposite our previous shop and we are working hard to have it ready for opening on Monday (April 23)."

All of the help in the shop will be purely on a voluntary basis, with no-one being paid a wage or receiving expenses.

The Rotary Club would also like to thank Derek, Enis and Rob Broad of Homeleigh Garden Centre who have been storing the shop display equipment and stock while the Rotary Club has been looking for another suitable shop.
