AN APPLICATION for the development of two houses on the Launceston Police Station site, has triggered a string of complaints objecting to the proposal.
Devon and Cornwall Police has submitted a planning application to Cornwall Council, to build two four bedroom semi-detached houses on the police overflow car park on Moorland Road.
Neighbouring residents of the site have expressed concern that current inadequate parking provision will be made worse with another two houses and heighten the risk of an accident.
Marc Oldaker lives next to the proposed site and never expected two houses to be built next to his property.
He said: "If the car park was taken away then this could force more vehicles to park along the road and what would happen if there was a major incident in Launceston, where would all additional people park. Also, where would the people who purchase the houses park? This could be an additional four cars in the area looking for parking."
