MAKING waves in the hair and beauty industry, Carly Wallington, originally of Launceston, has been nominated for Make Up Artist of the Year 2019 in the North East Beauty Industry Awards.

After completing her studies 13 years ago at Plymouth College, Carly went on to study at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, where she now lives and has built up her own thriving business ‘Carly Michelle Makeup & Hair’.

This is the second year of the awards and an elegant ceremony to announce the winners will take place on Sunday, September 22, at The Grand Hotel, Gosforth Park, in Newcastle upon Tyne. The awards seek to recognise everyone that work hard to leave the North East region glowing; from beauty therapists and hair stylists to cosmetic clinics, dentists and tattoo removal clinics.

A diverse range of accolades are to be presented to the deserving winners.

Hopeful Carly told the Post: “To be nominated for such a fantastic award feels absolutely amazing. I’ve worked so hard on not only building a reputation that keeps the diary busy, but that means clients finish their appointment and can’t wait for their next.

“I base my business around three main qualities, professionalism, consistency and kindness. If I was to win make up artist of the year in the North East Beauty Industry Awards it would confirm that everything I’ve worked so hard for has gained the recognition I feel it deserves.

“I feel so proud of my journey since leaving Launceston for Newcastle upon Tyne and I can’t wait to see what’s in store next!”
