LAUNCESTON girl Georgina Freestone undertook the first of a number of events in pursuit of raising £2,000 for charity Macmillan Cancer Support, last Saturday.

At Launceston RFC's Farmer's Day, she cycled the equivalent length of the North Cornwall coast — 60 miles — non-stop, and will do the same again at Homeleigh Garden Centre on Sunday, May 8 (11am-2pm) and Lifton Strawberry Fields on Sunday, May 15 (11am-2pm.)

She will also be competing in the London Triathlon in July and Bude's Shoreline Triathlon on June 26.

Georgina said: "We have probably all been affected by the work of Macmillan Cancer Support in some way. Their work stretches further than the patients themselves, and offers a great help and support to families and friends of sufferers."
