A?FASHION Show, held in memory of a Launceston girl, raised over £1,000 for a trust that was set up in her name.
Hayley Mounce passed away at the young age of 27, and after a trust was set up in her name, Rita Dart and Marilyn Basford decided they would like to do something to raise money for that trust.
They came up with the idea of a fashion show, and asked Nicki Varker, the manager of M&CO and Sue Issleib, the owner of Hazard, if they would help and they agreed.
Rita said: "What a great show they and their staff put on. All the models were great and did a brilliant job. We would like to say thank you to all of them, and also a big thank you to all the businesses, friends and family that gave so generously for the raffle, the White Hart and everyone else that helped."
Thanks were also extended to Launceston College for lending the sound system, Alex Dart for helping with the music and Marcus Walsh for doing a great job as compere.
Marilyn added: "Sadly, cancer affects most of us one way or another, so by raising money for research Hopefully one day soon they will come up with a cure that can help us all."
The event raised £1,169.
