Students and staff at Launceston College have been celebrating as pupils collected their GCSE results this morning.

There were smiles all round as students saw the results of months of hard work, resilience and determination, recognising the commitment they had shown throughout their studies.

The school community has expressed its pride of the students who have worked hard to secure some excellent results.

Some impressive individual performances include:

  • Amira P achieved a remarkable Grade 8 or 9 in all of her GCSEs. Amira will return to Launceston Sixth to study A-levels in art, English Literature and history.
  • Andre W secured an impressive Grade 8 or 9 across all of his GCSEs. Andre is hoping to pursue a career in engineering and will study A-levels in physics, maths and further maths at Launceston Sixth.
  • After obtaining 100 per cent Grade 8 and 9 in her GCSEs, Izzy J will study A-levels in maths, chemistry and psychology.
  • Tilly P was rightly pleased to secure 100 per cent Grade 8 and 9 in her GCSEs. Tilly will progress to study A-levels in psychology, sport, geography and chemistry.
  • Having achieved 100 per cent Grade 7 - 9 in his GCSEs, Ruben T will return to Launceston Sixth in September studying A-levels in physics, maths and computer science, before hopefully studying physics at University in the future.
  • Jake M achieved a fantastic Grade 7, 8 or 9 in all of his GCSEs and will start A-levels in maths, French and Spanish at Launceston Sixth, before studying languages at university.
  • Emily J has worked super hard to achieve a fantastic suite of GCSEs including a Grade 8 in geography, art and combined science. It is a privilege to welcome Emily back to Launceston Sixth in September where she will study A-levels in biology, geography and art.
  • Having committed fully to her GCSEs, Irene J is celebrating a great set of GCSE results, including a Grade 6 in English Language, English Literature, combined science, history and geography. We are excited to welcome Irene back to Launceston Sixth where she will study A-levels in chemistry, biology and psychology.
  • We are super proud of Lily B who worked tirelessly to achieve a very impressive set of GCSE results including a Grade 6 in maths, a Grade 5-5 in combined science, English Literature, French and hospitality and catering. We wish Lily every success with her next steps studying Health & Social Care.
