LAUNCESTON residents celebrated the 60th anniversary of The Queen's Coronation by holding a street party in the square on Sunday (June 2).

It was opened by the Town Crier Cllr Rob Tremain, who welcomed everyone as they sat in the sunshine. Picnic tables had been set up "in the traditional way street parties have been held over the years".

There was live entertainment from Musical Memories who sang songs from the 50s to the present day. The children were kept amused with chalk art on the paving slabs in the square along with practising their skills with circus equipment.
