Launceston's Global Koffi and No 8 café on Westgate Street teamed up on September 25 to create a signature coffee in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support's World's Biggest Coffee Morning. Sales of the special cup of coffee made from a shot of Global Koffi's own blend Fairtrade espresso, topped with a huge dollop of thick dark chocolate syrup and complemented with a shot of vanilla syrup, hot steamed milk and dark chocolate shavings, have been donated to help the UK's leading cancer charity continue providing its vital services to those affected by cancer in the area. "We simply wanted to support the invaluable work the Macmillan organisation does'," said Phil Smith, director of Global Koffi, Launceston. Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning Manager, Lisa Marchetti added: "We are really grateful that Adi Harvey, the owner of the No 8 cafe, and Global Koffi decided to take part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning and we want to thank all of No 8's customers for their support. Without the kind generosity of people who live in Launceston and local businesses such as No 8 and Global Koffi we simply could not do what we do."
