A LOCAL artist has been thanked following a kind donation which now decorates her local town hall.

Former mayor, Cllr Helen Bailey met with a talented Launceston-based artist Angie Harris to formally accept a piece of art which has been donated to the town hall.

The image depicts parts of the historic town including the town hall tower, the castle and so many more, displayed as some iconic silhouettes, which have become well known to local residents.

Cllr Bailey thanked Mrs Harris for her kind donation and praised the piece’s detail, calling it ‘spectacular’.

The picture is now hanging in the bar area of the town hall for everyone to enjoy, showcasing some of Launceston’s local talent.
