SOUTH West Lakes Trust has received royal endorsement for the second time in five years. The Launceston-based company was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise, in the sustainable development category, it was announced in the Queen's Birthday Honours. The trust is responsible for public access and conservation at inland waters from Penzance to Dulverton in West Somerset, the enterprise has also developed hospitality and outdoor activity centres, directed from its Pennygillam head office. Tim Jones, chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Business Council and board member of the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership, said: "The trust has demonstrated significant ambition and creativity in its approach to the management of critical assets, with implications to many parts of our tourist industry."
