THE ladies’ team captain at Holsworthy Golf Club has raised more than £1,000 this year for her chosen charity the Royal British legion (RBL).

Gwen Adams has helped organise various charity events over the last year, all in aid of the RBL.

Gwen said: “My charity for the year was the Royal British Legion. With various raffles and a ‘Charity Open Day’ at Holsworthy Golf Club which I organised in September, £1,465 was raised for the Poppy Appeal.

“Many thanks to everyone who helped in any way, especially the businesses in Bude and Holsworthy who kindly donated raffle prizes.”
