THE children in St Breward CP School’s Turtles class, consisting of Nursery and Reception age children, were given a lovely surprise recently when a medieval castle appeared in their classroom.

The castle was constructed and painted by teaching assistant Michelle Colman and her husband Cedi to help the children understand their topic on Medieval Legends.

The children have enjoyed dressing up as members of a legendary castle — including knights and dragons.

The castle has been a real inspiration for the children leading to role play, questioning, discussion and even writing.

Lee Bacchus, headteacher at St Breward and St Teath CP Schools, said: “We are very grateful to DS Smith Packaging in Launceston for providing the materials and, of course, to Michelle and Cedi for their amazing work in creating the castle.

“It has been a real talking point for visitors and the children throughout the school.”
