SMILEY Happy People, based in Launceston, made a kind gesture to Launceston Town Council last week.

On Thursday morning, February 20, the team at Launceston Town Council were delighted to receive hampers full of goodies and cards from the Smiley Happy People nursery, thanking the council and its staff for their work in the town.

Along with the hampers came a letter from the children, which read: “The children at Smiley Happy People and Smiley Happy People Trethorne have been discussing our community. We wanted to thank you for looking after our town, cutting grass, cleaning up, repairing and putting on fun events. We hope you enjoy the goodies made for you!”

With plenty of fresh cakes and treats to feast upon on a drizzly, wet Thursday, a council spokesperson said: “Sixteen years in local government and today ranks as the best ever!”
