The final day was all about the shootout between the pair.

Ben quickly got into his stride with an opening birdie at the first, eagle at the par five third hole and further birdies at the fifth and eighth holes for a five under par score of 31 — to go from plus two to minus three for the tournament through the first nine holes.

Ricardo, after bogeying the ninth hole turned in 37 and all of a sudden his seven shot advantage over Ben was down to a single shot as they entered the back nine.

The Pestana Tournament Golf College Series of four events closes this week at Pestana Vale da Pinta Golf Club, with the Pestana Vale da Pinta Tournament Golf College Finals, and with three different winners over the first three events the scoring should once again be excellent, as the level of competition improves with each event.

Ben, an England squad player has come on leaps and bounds since his time at Duchy College's Tournament Golf College.

"This course seriously rivals anything that can be found in the States, as the climate we play in is ideal and the International Golf Tournament Tour is a good chance to get into some tournament situations. Overall the tournament golf college is the best course bar none for improving your golf game."
