A HOLSWORTHY lady is holding a charity prom for Cancer Research UK in memory of her mum.

Owner of Holsworthy's Heavenly Hair, Jo Heaven lost her mum to cancer seven years ago and since then she has done her bit for charity.

Every other year Jo holds a prom and has so far managed to raise £10,000.

This year she is hoping to add more to the total by holding a prom at The Falcon Hotel, Bude, on Saturday, May 12.

Entertainment for the evening has been lined up from: Motown group, The Gillettes, comedian Martin Gold, followed by a disco. Dress code for the evening is black tie and long/cocktail dresses for ladies.

Jo said: "For me, the best part of the evening is seeing everyone arrive on the red carpet all looking stunning and having their picture taken by Evanda James. After, there is a bubbly reception which has kindly been supplied by St Austell Brewery."

This year's event is Jo's last fundraising prom and she hopes it will go out with a bang.

She explained: "I'm going to have to think of something else to do in two years' time, it would be good if this one could be even better than the last ones which will be very hard to top."
