CORNISH entertainer Johnny Cowling performed at the Eagle House Hotel in Launceston on Friday to help raise money for 'The Memory Cafe.' Over 200 people went along to support the event, which also included a raffle and a buffet. Cym Downing from Launceston Memory Cafe said the evening was "absolutely fabulous." An impressive £1,462 was raised for the Memory Cafe which was boosted by a donation of £870 from someone who wishes to remain anonymous. All the money will go to the Memory Cafe. Cym explained: "What we're aiming for is eventually to set up a 'sitting service'." She added: "We've got the cafe up and running very successfully and the next step will be towards eventually setting up a sitting service." Organisers Cym Downing and Maggie Dingle wished to thank everyone who supported the event and Richard Parish of 'Menswear' who kindly sold the tickets for the concert.
