THE owners of the world famous Jamaica Inn have been fined £7,000 after being prosecuted by North Cornwall District Council for food safety offences. Five Star Taverns, the owners of the Jamaica Inn at Bolventor, near Launceston, were prosecuted for four offences under The Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006 and Regulation (EC) 852/2004 at Bodmin Magistrates Court on March 18. The company pleaded guilty to all four offences and was fined £7,000. They were also ordered to pay the council's full costs of £2,965.30, giving a total fine of £9,965.30, all of which has to be paid in 28 days.
