A-LEVEL mathematics students at Shebbear College have been busy recently.
They took part in the UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge. The challenge comprises a multiple-choice paper, with 25 very hard problem-solving type questions.
Well done to Will Cox, who came top of the school with a score of 97 and gains a gold certificate for his achievement and entry into the next round. Joining him in the next round will be William Lam who also gained a gold certificate.
Well done to Harry Dymond, Robert Temple and Rachel Pankhurst who achieved silver certificates. Christy Chan, Theo Crookes, Neele Wachtendorf and Will Balkwill-Western achieved bronze certificates.
Last week mathematics teacher Mrs Cardoo took a team to Exmouth to compete in the Devon Schools Team Round. The team finished a creditable 11th out of 20 schools.
