I read with interest a letter published in last week's edition by Mrs Joyce Thomas MBE giving her vote to Jesse Norman.

I was pleased to hear after her hard and careful thought that Mrs Thomas recognises Jesse Norman's contribution in office to South Herefordshire. I find Jesse Norman to be a politician who makes himself readily available to his constituents and 4000 cases have been dealt with during his time. He is also highly visible in the media and spends a lot of time promoting Ross. I was especially pleased to read of Mrs Thomas's endorsement as she is a well respected member of our community and someone who has remained politically impartial in her decades of work with the local council.

I trust Mrs Thomas's assessment of Jesse's character and support him wholeheartedly. To those who have any questions over his candidature I would recommend in the first instance to contact the man himself, who is more than capable of fighting his own corner. As to the debate on whether you should vote for the party or the person I would ask readers to assess all candidates for all elections, whether they be national, county or local town council on that person's genuine intentions and character. Jesse is his own man and I would would ask readers to vote for the man or woman who you feel would represent you and your voice best. Thank you.
