LAUNCESTON Golf Club were very pleased to have recently taken delivery of a wooden bench donated by Peggy Witt in memory of her late husband Doug, who was a keen member of the Club before passing away last year aged 92. Doug's association with the Club stretched back some 40 years to the days when the course was only nine holes.
The bench was presented to the Club on behalf of Peggy by her daughter Anne Moody, accompanied by son-in-law Ken, who is of course a current member of the Club. Anne and Ken, in conjunction with course manager Graeme Gallimore, chose the 15th tee as a suitable location for the bench and its inscription.
In receiving the bench, Club Captain Dave Bundy passed on the appreciation of all club members to Peggy and her family for their generosity in donating such a tribute to Doug.
