IAN Sheldon, of New Witheven, Jacobstow, participated in the trip of a lifetime when he boarded 'Tenacious,' a pioneering tall ship, at Southampton Docks, in October.
Ian and his buddy, Dave McBride, spent five days on the 'Tenacious' as crew members.
The planned trip was to sail from Southampton to France, however, due to severe weather conditions, they sailed to Portsmouth and around The Needles,
experiencing Force 8 gales and turbulent seas.
Ian and Dave arrived back on land quite exhausted but elated from their experience and Ian is now planning his next adventure!
Ian would like to thank the Jubilee Sailing Trust — a registered charity which aims to promote the integration of men and women of all physical abilities by setting them the challenge and adventure of sailing on board their two magnificent, fully accessible tall ships — for making this trip possible.
