AROUND 200 people visited a house in Delabole on Hallowe’en, which had been specially decorated for the occasion.
Helen Ferguson, who lives at Pengelly, said she has been putting up decorations for Hallowe’en since she was a child.
“Mum used to do it, she lives three doors down, and when I moved out I just took it over.
Mrs Ferguson said she has collected a lot of inflatable decorations over the years, which she uses to create spooky scenes, and this year they used a microphone to call out friends’ names in scary voices as they saw them.
Mrs Ferguson’s children and sister’s children gave out sweets.
She said last year they had a record attendance of about 180, but this year thinks it was even higher — around 200 people — judged by the amount of treats given out.
Mrs Ferguson added: “I think Delabole has got a good name for trick or treating and we do have community spirit here.”
