FOLLOWING the closure of Bossiney House Hotel and restaurant near Tintagel in 2020 due to operational difficulties presented by COVID, the owners are now seeking planning permission to convert it into two detached homes.

One would have six bedrooms whilst the smaller one would be four bedrooms with the main building returned to its original detached status. The 16-bedroom hotel has an attached guest house, Southcote Cottage, which also provides the owner’s accommodation which is not included in the plans.

The application says the current owners have reached retirement age and attempts to sell the hotel as a commercial business have been unsuccessful due to holidaymakers preferring private self-contained accommodation rather than traditional catered hotels.
