IN blustery conditions both teams found it difficult to play any flowing football with few chances being created in the first half.
Bude's Billy Hopcroft came close on a couple of occasions with Polperro 'keeper Mike Rickard coming to their rescue, Tommy Statton was also put through on goal after a mis-placed pass from a Polperro midfielder but from the edge of the box put his strike just wide of the far left post.
Polperro were coming into the game with three straight wins taking out two of the promotion challengers on the way and with the game nil-nil at half time they were still confident of another scalp.
On the hour mark though their bubble burst as a delightful chip from James Giodarni in o Hopcroft saw him turn and shoot past the 'keeper. Ten minutes later Bude doubled their lead, a flicked header from Gary Hodgson found the path of Hopcroft who ran through on goal and scored his second.
A now deflated Polperro were struggling and Bude stepped up their game, in the 75th minute Hopcroft again was put through on goal by a Hodgson through ball, he took the 'keeper and tapped in for his hat-trick.
Bude's back four of Dan Middleton, Wayne Cornish, Dan Starkey and Herbie Goodgroves were in great form and looked to be heading for a clean sheet but Polperro grabbed a late consolation goal, a deep kick in to the Bude box was flicked on by Zak Davey, the ball clipped the head of Cornish and nestled itself in to the bottom corner.
