HOLSWORTHY'S multi-million pound agri-business project and livestock market has received "unanimous" backing from Torridge District Council.

The council's plans committee voted in favour of the application at its meeting last Thursday (July 5).

The development is expected to be completed by December 2013, following a 12-month build.

Peter Quincey from the joint delivery team, told Holsworthy Town Council, at its latest meeting (Wednesday, July 4), that the project had evolved over the last three months.

Over 40 companies from local, regional and national parts, had indicated their interest in taking on the £4,500,000 — £6,000,000 contract for carrying out the build.
