WITH clear skies and brighter weather, January can be a popular time to start moving.

Some buyers make the decision over the Christmas and festive period that the New Year is the right time to start house hunting.

To prove this point, RightMove, the country’s leading property website, see a huge spike in home searching on Boxing Day.

The weather is an important aspect in selling a property in the South West as it can affect the travel schedule for potential buyers.

If the UK has a spell of dry, clear weather, it does encourage potential buyers to come down for a few days house hunting.

There has been a noticeable increase in the number of applicants registering with Kivells branches during the first few days of January which augers well for the coming months.

The Holsworthy town branch of Kivells has been hugely successful in the last year with moving people. Their sales figures are up over 50% from the previous year.

Property manager, Paul Saunders, discussed why the branch has had such a successful year.

Paul said: “I believe that we have the right team in place to meet the needs of our buyers and sellers as we are able to offer a friendly and professional service.

“We also have a good mixture of youthful exuberance and professional experience and are extremely lucky that Holsworthy and the surrounding area offers house hunters exceptional value for money and a wide variety of choice. Add these ingredients together and you have a recipe for continued success.”
