THE official opening of the long-awaited refurbishment of one of Holsworthy’s nursing homes under new owners Camelot Care was greeted with a crowd of residents and dignitaries.
Those in attendance were greeted with celebratory drinks, food and offered the opportunity to look around the new facility.
Suzanne Evans, the registered manager of the Deer Park Nursing Home, said: “I can’t believe that today has arrived. It’s been quite a journey as I am sure you have been watching from afar. This is Camelot cares fifth home which has been acquired and at last, we are having our opening day. Thank you to all of you for being part of it this morning, and to the mayor of Holsworthy who officially opened the home for us.
“I’d like to thank the local architects and builders which helped us make it happen, all the local tradespeople and services which have supported us along the way. Most of all, I’d like to thank the amazing staff team who I have come to know and work with over the last few months, because they’ve all been absolutely incredible.
“They have all worked so hard despite many challenges which there have been, many hurdles and obstacles but they have kept going, positive and focused to make it happen today and for us to start to provide a high standard of care for the people of Holsworthy.”
Cllr Jon Hutchings, the mayor of Holsworthy added: “I’m really impressed with the amazing job that’s been done here, they’ve done a great job with the overhaul of the place and its very nice. I wish them all the luck and success.”
